ALUMNI CHALLENGE MATCH!
Dr. Charlie Babbs, Summer Alumnus '62 and Trustee, will match all first-time alumni donations
to the Annual Fund up to $5,000, received by June 30, 2017.
As Charlie has said: "Looking back, my summer sojourn at CRMS turned out to be the most positive education experience, per unit of time invested, in my whole life. What better place for young people to learn to value and protect the outdoor environment and to value and encourage their fellow human beings from diverse backgrounds and cultures?"
Please consider demonstrating your support with a gift
that is meaningful to you, and make the most of this exciting alumni challenge!
“Education is a social process. Education is growth. Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself."
– John Dewey, 20th century progressive educator and philosopher
Each day CRMS provides students with inspired academic and practical instruction, focused on preparation for higher education and a rewarding life. Active pursuits, wilderness adventures, and work experiences broaden each student’s sense of what is personally possible and affirms the importance of contributing positively to the global community. The CRMS Annual Fund underwrites essential aspects of the CRMS program, which empowers the school to continue to provide the outstanding CRMS experience to the diverse student body.
This school year, financial aid or scholarship funds will be awarded to 39% of the students based on need, with over $2 million to be awarded due in large part to the Annual Fund. This fund also provides resources for salaries and professional development for the committed faculty and staff, who dedicate an average of ten years of service, individually, to CRMS. Gifts to this important fund also elevate CRMS to excellence, underwriting unique programming such as the outdoor curriculum, service to the community, and impressively varied arts offerings. As always, healthy participation percentages in giving from all constituency groups reflect that CRMS is a valued institution, which attracts larger grants from foundations and gifts from major donors.
The Annual Fund supports all aspects of the operations of the school. Strong participation from parents and alumni is key to the school’s success in attracting support from foundations as well as gifts from major contributors. All gifts count, whether large or small. Unrestricted gifts provide the school with the greatest flexibility, but gifts may be directed to any of these funds:
- Academic Studies
- Faculty Salaries
- Financial Aid
- Head’s Discretionary
- Wilderness and Trips
- Professional Development
- Work Crews and Physical Plant
Please consider consider supporting "Once Upon a Mountain Campus"
and help CRMS achieve the school’s historic $675,000 goal.
