Description

Wellness Days, October 3rd and 4th are when we take a break from our academic obligations to focus on other topics related to our well-being. We are excited to welcome back FCD for the 19th year!  FCD Prevention Works is the leading international nonprofit provider of school-based substance abuse prevention services. For decades, FCD has worked worldwide to provide students and the adults who care for them with the knowledge, understanding, and skills they need to make intelligent, healthy choices about alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.

In addition to substance use prevention, Response, a local organization will be presenting to students on the topic of healthy relationships and consent. Erik Darosa, who hosts an apple podcast called “Survivor to Thriver,” will be meeting with classes to discuss the stigma of mental health and help normalize discussions around mental health topics.  In addition, some grades participate in college counseling workshops as well as attend “outings” off-campus. We also have extended lunchtimes for students to gather in their advisory groups and have a special lunch together, on or off-campus.
