Adele Hause

Honorary Alumna 1965, Faculty 1961-2001

Adele Hause arrived at CRMS in 1962. For over three decades, she served in several capacities, most notably as a French teacher and as the Alumni and Parent Coordinator, a role that embodied her nature desire to get to know each student personally, and by association, their families. Her kindness, willingness to listen, and generosity has contributed to a lasting and contagious love for the school. To this day, CRMS students regularly visit her. They are trustees, teachers, parents of students, but primarily lifelong friends. Adele has often been referred to as a stand-in mother when young students needed parental support or guidance at their “home away from home.” Adele and Emma Danciger started Valley Folk Arts which brought a collaboration of artists (blacksmiths, silversmiths, quilters, etc.) to the CRMS campus in the summers. They also began the Native American Scholarship Program.

She is deeply loved by all and continues to embolden the CRMS mission through local volunteerism, environmental stewardship, and her insatiable curiosity in the human spirit. As a longtime Carbondale resident, she took particular interest in integrating CRMS into the broader Roaring Fork Valley Community.
