Colorado Rocky Mountain School (CRMS) is seeking a highly qualified Learning Specialist to join our team of dedicated faculty members starting in the fall of 2026. This educator will support the academic progress of diverse learners in our college-preparatory boarding school.
The CRMS Learning Specialist oversees our Learning Center, working closely with students, faculty, and parents with the goal of enhancing student success through direct intervention, professional development, and personalized learning profiles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and implement appropriate academic accommodations, including assistive technology and classroom interventions.
- Educate and coach faculty in best practices for addressing the needs of diverse learners.
- Collaborate with the Academic Dean and Learning Center faculty to develop academic support structures appropriate for a college-preparatory boarding school environment.
- Provide targeted academic support by meeting with students one-on-one and in small groups.
- Manage Learning Center faculty and schedule.
- Maintain accurate records of educational evaluations, learning profiles, and approved accommodations.
- Review applicant files and provide recommendations to the Admission team.
- Process applications for College Board and ACT accommodations.
- Ensure program compliance with ADA guidelines.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Foster a culture of inclusion and equity, ensuring all students feel a sense of belonging.
- Execute all duties and responsibilities in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required; an advanced degree or Special Education credential is preferred.
- Teaching or learning support experience.
- Experience teaching fundamental academic skill sets (e.g., reading comprehension, writing, numeracy, executive function).
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of educational technology and assistive devices.
- Exceptional communication and management skills.
- Cultural competency required to promote inclusion and belonging.

Compensation package: Salary and benefits are commensurate with other Colorado boarding schools. Salary range: $25,000-$50,000 plus benefits. If housing is included, additional residential faculty duties will be added. CRMS will consider applicants interested in a part-time position that would not include housing.Â

The CRMS Fellow Program offers recent college graduates the opportunity to gain teaching skills in our Active and Residential programs while sharing their unique gifts with CRMS students. Additionally, Fellows assist as substitute teachers, provide study support in the Learning Center, and may opt in to academic classroom observation and participation in coordination with CRMS faculty members.
Residential:
Living and working in a residential dormitory, Fellows gain practical training in residential education. Fellows serve on a weekend duty team fourteen weekends per year, facilitate a weekly restriction work crew, and participate in evening dorm duties three nights a week. Fellows also assist with overnight weekend adventures for our students.
Active:
Involvement in our Active Program, including:
- The Sports Program (kayaking, climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, numerous types of skiing and snowboarding activities, running, soccer, etc.);
- The Service Program (ex. ceramics, bike shop, recycling and sustainability, outdoor trip logistics, ski shop, ranch, etc.);
- The Outdoor Program, including the 10-day Outdoor Orientation, Fall Trip, and Spring Trip, which include backpacking as well as expeditions immediately linked to our Sports Program.
- Interim, a two-week immersive course of study
Academic:
Diverse experiential teaching opportunities available through the Active and Residential programs as well as self-motivated classroom observation and participation in coordination with CRMS faculty members in a specific subject area (History, Mathematics, Literature, Modern Languages, Science, Art, Technology, College Counseling, Outdoor Education).
The Fellow Program is a one-year appointment. Employment begins early August 2026 and extends through early June 2027. While at CRMS, fellows will receive room and board, a season ski pass to the four areas of Aspen, an $18,000 stipend, and benefits.
Who Should Apply:
Individuals with a college degree who are interested in experiential education, working with teenagers, and gaining firsthand experience working with students from across the globe in an inclusive independent board school setting. Individuals who work well collaboratively as well as independently. Position Summary: Support for the Director of Technology in all areas of technology, communications, library technologies, network systems, and end-user support.
This is a full-time, year-round position that will ensure the fulfillment of strategic technology initiatives and provide assistance to the technology department as needed. The position will be regularly scheduled to work an average of 40 hours/week throughout the year, not to exceed 2,080 hours.
Supervisory Relationship: Position reports to the Director of Technology.
FLSA Status: This position is not exempt from the overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Minimum Requirements to be considered for this position:
- Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting in the following areas:Â

Physical Requirements:
Sit for extended periods; frequently walk, stand, or crouch for extended periods on narrow, slippery, and erratically moving surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects, including equipment; physical ability to routinely lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds (occasionally greater than 50 pounds); physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 150 pounds with assistance; sufficient manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to use a variety of tools, and equipment; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication.
Typical Working Conditions:
Work is performed both in-office and outdoor environments; some exposure to controlled and hazardous substances and chemicals; continuous contact with staff, students and the public.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains access to the systems and undertakes software updates and corrections to ensure 24/7 operation.
- Support all Google G-Suite Apps for faculty and students.
- Support the maintenance of all school information and databases. Â
- Properly maintain all backup systems and implement data backup strategies.
- Student tech support with network access, general device support, and guidance.
- Provides support to end-users in the acquisition, implementation, and operation of end-user applications. May also provide advice and training.
- Is knowledgeable of hardware and software configurations of CRMS computer systems and Networks.Â
- Learning and Information Management System(s) support for all faculty, students and parents.
- Support with library, library skills, and information literacy.
- Monitor technology resources that can be housed in the library, including but not limited to loaner laptops, digital/audio readers, and other digital resources.
- Student support for all CRMS applications and connectivity (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google apps, etc.)
- Collaborate with faculty based on their class research and curriculum needs.
- Summer programming support.
- Occasional on-call hours

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountain School, an independent day and boarding high school, has an organic garden program with vegetable gardens, a young orchard, a small nursery, and a large-scale composting system. CRMS is located on a 300+ acre ranch in Carbondale in western Colorado between Glenwood Springs and Aspen at an elevation of 6200
feet.
Job Responsibilities: The Garden Assistant participates in all non-administrative activities of the garden as needed. This includes soil preparation, planting, mulching, protecting crops with covers, watering, weeding, fertilizing, planning, harvesting, cleaning produce, preparing produce for storage, preserving produce, arranging flowers, maintaining tools, minor repairs on buildings and equipment and cleaning of the buildings and work areas. The Assistant plays a large role in the yearly springtime plant sale, that will impart a different skill set; knowledge of perennials and annuals, marketing, sales, and customer relations. There is also the opportunity for the Assistant to gain skills pertaining to operating a skid-steer, tractor and various construction and landscaping projects. The Assistant will help with the compost program multiple times per week.
The Assistant works with the Garden Manager to plan, lead and/or supervise student work crews in the Spring. If the Assistant has sole responsibility for supervising a work crew, the assistant will take attendance, write reports and submit them by the appropriate deadline. At
times, the Assistant may be called upon to work in/on the campus landscape outside the garden. The assistant will take an active role in supervising and training Garden Interns, as well as creating a schedule and plan for local farm tours throughout the region.
Time Commitment: The Assistantship runs for approximately 24-30 weeks; from April 1st through October 15, 2026. The exact time frame is flexible and can be adjusted for the right candidate. The assistant will be required to work some weekends (on a rotating schedule with interns). Due to the nature of agricultural work, typical holidays (such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day) will be regularly scheduled workdays. Expect a heavy workload (35-40 hours/week) most weeks.
Compensation: $400/week paid every two weeks plus housing, meals and vegetables
Housing: You will live in a yurt on campus with a composting toilet, a water tank, and a full kitchen. This housing is somewhat primitive. The yurt, while it does have propane heat, can be on the cool to cold side during spring and during the summer months certain times of day in the
yurt can be very hot. The assistant has access to shower facilities in campus facilities, which are a short walk from the yurt. Water hauling may be necessary some weeks of the year. The Yurt is simply furnished and is a beautiful space.
Meals: Three meals daily provided when the school kitchen is open. The kitchen will be open for most of the term of the assistantship apart from a few intermittent weeks when the kitchen is closed. The assistant will also have access to produce from the school garden, some dry goods from the kitchen and to a small plot to plant his/her own garden if desired.
Qualifications:
• The Garden Assistant should have practical and relevant work experience and a basic knowledge of organic production and gardening and a genuine curiosity about learning more, an interest in the educational side of agriculture
• the ability to thrive under challenging and conditions with a heavy workload
• the ability to work alone and take on a leadership role with gusto
• an ability to be flexible and respond to changes and challenges that arise because of the school calendar, the weather and other logistics
• Must be 21 years of age
• Experience working with teenagers is a plus
• A strong interest in organic and sustainable agriculture and our food system
• Strong organization skills and tidiness
• A well-developed and energetic work ethic

This includes soil preparation, planting, watering, weeding, fertilizing, planning, harvesting, cleaning produce, preparing produce for storage, maintaining tools, minor repairs on buildings and equipment and cleaning of the buildings and work areas. There also exist opportunities to tour other farms, operate machinery, participate in construction projects, and dabble in flower arranging. At times, the Intern may be called upon to work in/on the campus landscape. In addition, interns may be given responsibility over a specific project or ongoing task.
Housing: On campus (most likely a dorm room).
Stipend: $200/week paid every two weeks
Meals: Three meals daily provided when school kitchen is open. The kitchen will be open for most of the term of the internship apart from a few intermittent weeks. The interns will also have access to produce from the school garden and dry goods from the kitchen.
Time Commitment: Duration and dates are flexible. 8-10 weeks at 35-40 hours a week from early June until mid August depending on the CRMS school calendar and the Intern's availability. The interns will be required to work some weekends (on a rotating schedule with other intern and assistant - expect 1-2 weekends per month - mostly watering and light work). Due to the nature of agricultural work, typical holidays (such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day) will be regularly scheduled work days. Expect a heavy work load (35-40 hours/week) most weeks.

• An ability to be flexible and respond to changes that
arise because of the school calendar, weather and other logistics
• A strong interest and curiosity in organic agriculture and a strong work ethic are required
• An ability to work and live together cooperatively is essential.
• The internship is an experiential ‘learning while doing’ opportunity and applicants must express a desire to engage in the work at hand every day.
