Lynn moved to the Roaring Fork Valley from Bozeman, Montana, in 1990. Before joining the CRMS faculty in 1997, she worked at Colorado Mountain College’s Lappala Center in Carbondale and taught photography at the Spring Valley Campus. It was there that she met CRMS photography teacher Meredith Ogilby, who encouraged her to apply for a position at CRMS.

Over the next 25 years, Lynn taught photography and later silversmithing. Remarkably, when she took over the Silversmithing Hogan, she had only three days of formal silversmithing instruction herself. She recalls that first year as “a beautifully collaborative endeavor—hands-on learning together. We weren’t afraid to try new ideas, make mistakes, and learn from them.”

In Jennifer Ogilby’s retirement tribute, she highlighted Lynn’s gift for connecting with students through playful teasing and genuine care. Students knew they could always count on her for encouragement—and a hug. As one student said, “Her hugs spread so much warmth in our hearts.”
