What inspired you to join the CRMS Board of Trustees? I have been intrigued by CRMS since my son enrolled twenty years ago. There is an energy about the school that is both exciting and inspiring. When the opportunity arose to become involved in the school, on the board, I could not let it pass me by. Being a part of the energy and excitement of this school offered a chance at fulfillment that I could not turn down.

What do you value most about CRMS? CRMS provides a unique educational experience in a unique setting. This experience is a result of the people who work and teach here. Their dedication to holistically nurturing the growth and development of the students entrusted to their care is what really makes CRMS special. A beautiful setting and a vibrant quality of life add an inspirational aspect to the educational experience here, but in the end, it is the people that make this school special. The setting simply makes it easier for people to excel. A great teacher in a grass hut can accomplish more than a mediocre teacher in a crystal palace.

What are you most excited about while serving as a Trustee? CRMS is at a formative transitional moment. People who have been at the heart of this institution for decades are retiring. Societal challenges and expectations are changing. The preservation of the school’s unique characteristics and strengths while navigating a changing social environment presents great opportunities as well as challenges. Fortunately, we stand on the shoulders of a long history of inspirational leaders. Times of change are exciting times. The opportunity today is to be involved in transformations beyond simply embellishing or enhancing the existing school program while preserving the core attributes that make CRMS the unique institution that it is. This is an opportunity that I am excited to be involved with.Â
