DESCRIPTION:Each term\, we set dates for academic checks. This is a time we encourage families to log into Canvas and recognize each student’s academic progress. Our fourth academic check is Tuesday\, May 5th. \nThe intention of the Canvas Parent portal is so that families can see the status of assignments or grades given. When used well\, an open grade book promotes productive conversations between parents/guardians\, students\, and teachers. Parents should not feel obligated to check their child’s grade status frequently as most students are better off with autonomy and the understanding that they hold responsibility for their academic achievement. Students are expected to use Canvas daily as they complete homework and keep track of assessments. \n*Please note that current grades give us only a small snapshot of a student’s performance and do not reflect their overall progress or final grade. \nCanvas Tip: The default settings for Canvas Notifications can be overwhelming and unneeded. We recommend that you turn down or turn off the notifications and check in whenever you like through the App or web.\nHow to Adjust Canvas Notification Settings

DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, May 6 \nWhat is Oystermeister? Seven times each school year\, students and faculty come together for a school-wide\, fun-for-all athletic event. Students pay an entry fee of $1 each to participate and all funds raised support student clubs. Regardless of ability\, we invite the entire CRMS community to join in – and don’t forget your school spirit\, costume\, and friendly competition! \nThe 7 events are: \n\nOpen water pond swim and party\nCampus course cycling time trial\n2.5-mile trail run on Tick Ridge\nRock climbing – bouldering in the CRMS Gym\n5K Nordic ski (skate or classic) at Spring Gulch\nAlpine downhill at the Snowmass Ski Area NASTAR course\nKayaking race starting at River Valley Ranch and ending at CRMS\n\nTo read more about the CRMS Oystermeiser tradition\, visit the CRMS blog.
