DESCRIPTION:Annually\, Wellness Days provides a shift in our academic schedule to provide the necessary space for us to address topics essential to students’ overall well-being. This year’s seminars include healthy relationships and consent\, mental health\, and substance use education with Soundcheck Prevention Network. CRMS has provided quality education around substance use and abuse through professional substance use educators for the past 20 years. Read more about Soundcheck’s services here. \nSpoken word educator\, Meta Sarmiento\, will also be conducting imagery workshops on joy and happiness. \nIn addition to these seminars\, there will be Advisor Group lunches\, “Quad Games” and additional Soundcheck programming in the evening\, and Tuesday Night Bouldering. 12th-grade students not on college visits will participate in a relaxing hike off-campus. \nThe special schedule for Wellness Days is posted in Canvas. \nPlease contact Nancy Draina\, Academic Dean\, or Ashley Smith\, Director of Counseling\, with any questions.

DESCRIPTION:Each term\, we set dates for academic checks. This is a time we encourage families to log into Canvas and recognize each student’s academic progress. Our second academic check is Tuesday\, October 24th. \nThe intention of the Canvas Parent portal is so that families can see the status of assignments or grades given. When used well\, an open grade book promotes productive conversations between parents/guardians\, students\, and teachers. Parents should not feel obligated to check their child’s grade status frequently as most students are better off with autonomy and the understanding that they hold responsibility for their academic achievement. Students are expected to use Canvas daily as they complete homework and keep track of assessments. \n*Please note that current grades give us only a small snapshot of a student’s performance and do not reflect their overall progress or final grade. \nCanvas Tip: The default settings for Canvas Notifications can be overwhelming and unneeded. Any student who has received financial aid for tuition is welcome to apply.
