The Art of Enameling

Enameling is the process of fusing glass to metal, and has been employed artfully by cultures as far back as the 13th century B.C. In this workshop we began with the fundamentals of enameling, working with copper and silver. We then applied these foundations to various techniques, such as cloisonné, champlevé, sifting and painting techniques. Students made their own designs and utilized the different ways of working with enamel developing their own artistic style, creating jewelry, small objects or wall pieces.
