Dream Project Scholarship Recipients

By Aimee Yllanes 04/11/2017
5Point Film is a non-profit organization on a mission to inspire adventure of all kinds, to connect generations through shared experience, to engage passion with a conscience, and to educate through film. 5Point Film inspires and directly gives back to high school students through the Dream Project scholarship program. This program offers seven outstanding students the chance to explore their personal boundaries and dreams. The winning students best exemplify 5Point Film's five guiding principles and will receive a $1,500 scholarship to embark on a life-changing opportunity, give back to a community, and follow their passions.

This year, three CRMS students won a 5Point Dream Project Scholarship.

Evelyn Huntington
A junior at Colorado Rocky Mountain School, Evelyn is a committed activist for human rights. Originally from South Dakota, Evelyn will be returning home to create a documentary about the women of the Lakota Reservation. Through her camera lens she will capture the stories and challenges surrounding the women of these ancient traditions living in the modern age.

Lily Meadows
Lily is a senior at Colorado Rocky Mountain School. A Carbondale local and accomplished rider, Lily volunteers with Smiling Goat Ranch, utilizing her horse skills in a therapeutic riding program with children on the autism spectrum. Building on these experiences, Lily will travel to Portugal to study under a renowned classical dressage rider and autistic therapy expert. She is looking forward to bringing her training back to the valley and continuing to work with horses in benefiting the autistic community.

Whitton Feer
A whirling dervish of energy, Whitton is a junior at Colorado Rocky Mountain School. He has a sharp awareness of the importance of public lands in our current political climate. An inspired photographer, he will branch into film, documenting the beauty and importance of Colorado's public lands, bringing attention to the necessity of preserving these special places. His film will give voice to the places that cannot speak for themselves, the places where we play, where we learn, explore and expand.
