Sopris Climb to the Summit
The longest and most physically-challenging of all reunion hiking options is the climb to the summit of Mt. Sopris. We suggest you leave at 6 a.m. Saturday morning, for those who feel you can hit the ground, rise, shine and climb with no acclimation to the altitude. You provide your own transportation and leadership. Equipment needed: Boots (still lots of snow), wool socks, waterproof windbreaker, wool sweater or polar fleece, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, daypack, personal items (moleskin, first aid, camera), at least 2 x 32 oz water bottles, or the equivalent in a camelpack.

Rafting
This trip is contingent on the water-levels and weather. You must sign-up at the Bar Fork for the Saturday raft trip by 8:30 a.m., Saturday morning. YOU WILL PAY THE RAFTING COMPANY DIRECTLY. So, bring a credit card or blank check. The rafting company charges ABOUT $35 per adult and ABOUT $30 per child. Children must weigh a minimum of 50 pounds. On Saturday, the group will meet in front of the Bar Fork at 11:00 a.m. The rafting company provides transportation. Equipment needed: Tennis shoes or sport-sandals, clothes which dry easily, a sweater or jacket and sunscreen.

Other Activities
Mountain biking, cycling through Glenwood Canyon, fishing, swimming at the Glenwood Hot Springs or Carbondale pool, tennis, golfing and hiking are all activities you may enjoy on your own while you are here. Bikes are available for rent in Carbondale and Glenwood Springs. You can also check the Aspen Chamber website for additional activities in and around Aspen. Please see the rental equipment and off-campus activities information document on the welcome table for more details.

Children's Activities
Please send us a photo of your children if they are coming, ask them what sorts of activities they are interested in and if they have talents to contribute. We will have babysitters "on hold" if you wish to arrange babysitting. Depending on the number of children who come, we will develop appropriate activities. If you have a particular interest or hobby you would share with children, please let us know. Supervision of young children is extremely important because the irrigation ditches will be running.

Dress
Casual clothes for all types of weather are recommended.
