Dr. Bonyo Benson Bonyo
Growing up in a mudhut in a small Kenyan village , Bonyo Benson Bonyo was surrounded by poverty. After witnessing his sister, and other loved ones, die from easily preventable illnesses, he
decided at a young age that he wanted to make a difference for others. He embarked on an incredible journey to obtain the needed education and , along the way, he captured the commitment, dedication and admiration of many, inspiring them to become part of his dream.

He arrived in this country with few clothes, $11 and a blanket. Went to school full time at the University of Texas at Arlington and worked 48 hrs/week as a janitor to support himself. After obtaining several degrees,Dr. Bonyo eventually graduated from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicing in 1998. As a student there, he began taking groups of classmates to Kenya with him to volunteer and help the people of his village.. This led to founding SHARE Kenya (Student Health Assistance Rural Experience—a yearly two week long clinical program delivering healthcare to rural Western Kenya since 1995). Out of that rose the need to provide ongoing sustainable care. In 2006, the nonprofit, Care Kenya was founded, which has supplied the funds to build a clinic, provide continuing medical care and staffing, as well as supplying uniforms and supplies for children who cannot afford to go to school.

Dr. Bonyo currently has a large private family medicine practice in Akron , Ohio , mostly serving poor and uninsured patients in low income, innercity areas .
