Admissions Process

Admission to CRMS is selective. The Admission Office receives roughly 200 applications each year and enrolls approximately 60 new students. The Admission Committee seeks students who are academically engaged, curious, creative, adventurous, kind, thoughtful, and open minded.

Applying to CRMS is a four-step process:

1. Complete an Application Form
There are three application options for applicants to choose: CRMS Application, SSAT Standard Application Online, or Gateway application. Whichever application you choose, you will need to create an online account. In addition to some biographical information, students must complete a questionnaire including short-answer and essay questions. Parents must complete the parent questionnaire.
An application fee of $75 ($125 for international applicants) is required at the time of submission.

2. Submit (3) Teacher Recommendation Forms and a School Transcript
In addition to the application form, students must submit three teacher recommendations from an English teacher, math teacher, and guidance counselor/principal. (Supplemental recommendations can also be sent and will be included in the student’s file.)
Applicants should request their current school to send an official transcript directly to the CRMS Admission Office. For students applying to 9th grade, only an 8th grade transcript is required. Applicants for 10th-12th grade should provide a complete transcript for all high school years completed.

3. Register for and Take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT)
Register for the next administration of the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) at www.ssat.org, indicating that the scores should be sent to CRMS (school code: 2506). The SSAT is administered several times each year at CRMS and in more than 200 cities worldwide. For dates, locations, and information, visit www.ssat.org.
International applicants must also submit the TOEFL test. Please visit the International Students page to learn more about international student admissions.

4. Visit Campus and Interview
The best way to explore CRMS is to visit campus and experience the program and the students first-hand. A personal interview with an admission officer is a required piece of the application process. Please contact the Admission Office to arrange a campus visit and interview. (If an in-person interview is impossible, a Skype or phone interview can be arranged.)

The Admission Committee reviews completed applications and communicates admission decisions by March 10th. (Applications submitted after the February 15th deadline will be reviewed on a rolling basis.)

The Admission Office is available to support applicants and their family throughout this process. Please do not hesitate to contact the Admission Office with any questions at all.
