Tuition & Financial Aid
An independent school education can require a significant financialinvestment, but at CRMS, we do our very best to make the school accessible
through a generous financial-aid program. Last year, more than $1 million
in need-based financial aid was awarded to 41 percent of the student body.
Through our commitment to need-based financial aid, we offer institutional
grants and numerous payment plans to help you get the most from your
investment.

Financial Aid
CRMS uses School and Student Services (SSS) to process financial aid
applications. Based on the financial information you provide in the Parents’
Financial Statement, SSS gives us an estimated amount your family can
contribute to educational expenses. This estimate is a starting point to help
us make fair and objective financial aid decisions.
To be eligible for consideration for financial aid, you must complete your
Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) and submit all supporting documents
by February 15th (including 2011 tax returns). We strive to communicate
decisions about financial aid by March 10.
To begin your financial aid application for the 2012-13 school year, please
follow the steps below.
Step 1: Complete a Parent Financial Statement (PFS) Online
- Starting November 1, 2011, go to the SSS Website and click on the green “Apply Now” button to enter the PFS Online
- Login to the PFS Online.
- Are you applying for aid for the first time? Click on the green “Create an Account” button. You’ll be asked to enter your name and email address and to select a password.
- Did you apply last year? Enter in your login and password from last year in the section called “Returning Families.” If you have forgotten your login information, click on “Forgot your Password".

Need-based financial aid is not automatically renewable. Every financial aid
award is made for one year only and will be reviewed annually. Each year
and for each child, parents must submit the necessary forms to School and
Student Services for Financial Aid (SSS). Unless new information comes to
light and so long as financial circumstances remain the same, the Financial
Aid Committee’s goal is to maintain funding at proportionate levels over a
student’s years of enrollment. Current CRMS families who are not on financial
aid and who have experienced unexpected financial difficulties may apply for
financial assistance for the following school year.
CRMS reserves the right to amend awards if new information comes to light
after enrollment.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is financial aid determined?
To determine need, CRMS uses the services of the School and Student
Service (SSS) for Financial Aid in Princeton, N.J. This service utilizes
information provided by the family on a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS)
form, which asks for income, expenses, assets and liability information. The
family sends the original completed PFS form to the School and Student
Service and provides a copy to CRMS. SSS computes this information and
determines an estimated need. The Report of Family Contribution is sent
from Princeton to CRMS, and the CRMS Financial Aid Committee uses this
estimated need as a guideline in making awards.
How much financial aid can I expect to receive?
Each case is considered individually, but every family should expect to
contribute something toward their child’s education – typically a minimum of
$8,000-10,000. The total amount received will be based on demonstrated
financial need, academic record, extracurricular activities and character.
What if there is a situation involving divorced or separate parents?
CRMS expects both the custodial and non-custodial parents to participate
in the support of their child. It is up to all parties involved to communicate
and participate in good faith in the responsibilities. CRMS does not interpret
divorce or legal separation decrees.
What if I do not have my tax return completed by the February 15th, deadline?
A copy of your 2011 tax return is required in order to cross reference the
information provided on the Parents' Financial Statement. In some instances,
at the sole discretion of the Financial Aid Committee, a preliminary award
can be made then finalized upon receipt of your 2011 tax return. Priority
and funding will be allocated first to families that submitted complete
applications.
Does the school offer Merit Scholarships?
CRMS offers two different merit scholarship opportunities for excellent
students.
