Planning for Your Future
Welcome
At Colorado Rocky Mountain School, we pursue students whose values, energy, spirit, and passion for ideas mirror our own. Our academics emphasize a firm college-preparatory foundation with a focus on critical thinking and a personal connection to the subject matter. And with mountains, valleys, and deserts providing a classroom as well as a backdrop, we infuse our students with the skills and the mindset to succeed not only in college but in life.Sixty percent of all CRMS students live on campus during the school year; a day-student option is available only to Roaring Fork Valley residents. We feel strongly that the social and cultural benefits of full-time, on-campus immersion maximizes the CRMS experience specifically and the educational experience as a whole. Independent research by the Art and Science Group affirms the benefits of a boarding-school education. Nationally:
• Boarding schools boast superior academics: 91 percent of boarding students report that their school is "academically challenging," compared with 50 percent of public school students and 70 percent of private day students. We know that boarding school is frequently a child's first extended departure from home. Our experienced residential life leaders are committed to ensuring an inviting living environment that is a home away from home.
• Boarders are more motivated: 75 percent of boarding students report "being around motivated peers," compared with 49 percent of public school students and 71 percent of private day students.
• Boarders become leaders: 77 percent of boarders say their school "provides opportunities for leadership," compared with 52 percent of public school students and 60 percent of private day students.
I encourage you to get a feel for CRMS by taking a tour of our 300-acre campus, just miles from Aspen, Colorado, in the heart of the idyllic Roaring Fork Valley. Hear how student work crews were integral to the construction of several campus buildings. Sit in on classes in subjects as diverse as physics, geopolitical studies, and jazz. Meet students and teachers from all over the country and even the world.
To set up a visit, contact the Admission Office. For 55 years, CRMS has inspired tomorrow’s thinkers and doers. Become a part of the CRMS community, and set the bar higher for your future.
