Q: What is your favorite type of music?A: Anything and everything. Usually I lean toward music I can play or sing.
Q: What kind of music to do participate in at CRMS?
A: I participate in the musicals at CRMS and I am apart of the Intermediate Music Class. I also compose music in my free time.
Q: How do you see music fitting into your life after CRMS?
A: Music has been a part of my life since I was a little kid as a hobby and as something I've always enjoyed. When I get older and venture out of CRMS I still believe that I will keep it up as a hobby and will never loose my passion for music
Q: Is music something that you want to have as a career?
A: I would be totally thrilled to have music as a career in the future. However I also have many other talents and passions I could pursue so I guess I'll find out!
Q: If you could be one famous music artist who would it be and why?
A: There are so many. If I had to choose any I would pick the lead artist from "A Fine Frenzy." She has a great sound and meaningful lyrics and those are qualities I really enjoy in an artist.
Q: How did you get into the music program at CRMS?
A: I wanted to be a part of any of the music and drama program ever since my first time on campus to see the Fall Coffee House in 2009.
Q:What would be your dream addition to the music building?
A: Recording Studio. Hands down. It's a great thing to use and it's really fun to work in.
Q: What is your favorite song to perform/play?
A: Like A Star by Corinne Bailey Rae
Featured Music Student JJ Worely
Q: What is your favorite type of music?A: I like pretty much any type of music, but my favorites are oldies from the 60's and 70's( like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin) and some little Indie bands like Broken Bells, Blind Pilot, and Peter Bjorn and John.
Q: What kind of music to do participate in at CRMS?
A: I sing a little bit and play guitar in the George's music class at school.
Q: How do you see music fitting into your life after CRMS?
A: I want to continue playing music in college and for the rest of my life for sure. I have also thought about majoring in music in college, and then going on to pursue it as a career, either through teaching or performance.
Q: If you could be one famous music artist who would it be and why?
A: Nancy Wilson because she was one of the first known female lead guitar players when she preformed with her band Heart.
Q: How did you get into the music program at CRMS?
A: I first tried the CRMS music class my Freshman year in Arts 9 class. I had a lot of fun in it, and have taken music as my art every since!
Q: What would be your dream addition to the music building?
A: It would be amazing to have a larger space for practicing ( we have a little trouble fitting our whole music class in the practice room)
Q: What is your favorite song to perform/play?
A: I love playing "Now That I've Found You", by Alison Krauss, and I also had a lot of fun playing Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog."

Q: What is your favorite type of music?A: It varies depending on what mood I'm in, but I generally like listening to acoustic and classic rock the best.
Q: What kind of music to do participate in at CRMS?
A: The main instrument I play is the hammer dulcimer, so I try to work that into the music program as much as possible (it has a limited number of keys and doesn't always work with the song we're playing). But because of that I also have been able to try out guitar, bass and the vibraphone.
Q: How do you see music fitting into your life after CRMS?
A: I see music as something I want to continue with throughout my life. I've played at coffee shops and such before and that's something I'd like to keep doing.
Q: Is music something that you want to have as a career?
A: I don't really see it as a career, but I definitely want it to be a part of my adult life- in one way or another.
Q: How did you get into the music program at CRMS?
A: I started taking individual lessons with George Weber when I was a freshmen and then decided that the music program would be a good way to further my skills.
Q: What would be your dream addition to the music building?
A: I would love to have more separate practice space. It can get really hard to learn a new piece when seven other people are doing the same thing in the same room!
Q: What is your favorite song to perform/play?
A: I performed a Tim O'Brian song called Bending Blades that is my favorite song so far because it was a new level for me. I sang and played my dulcimer for this song which was a pretty exciting step for me.

Q: What is your favorite type of music?A: Nothing is better than good country music, but there's also nothing worse than bad country music.
Q: What kind of music to do participate in at CRMS?
A: My music class is Jazz, funk, and blues and I play bluegrass where I can.
Q: How do you see music fitting into your life after CRMS?
A: I would like to continue playing with other people as often as I do here.
Q: Is music something that you want to have as a career?
A: If I'm inclined towards music in a few years then yes.
Q: If you could be one famous music artist who would it be and why?
A: I would be Ben Eldridge because I'd get to play with the Seldom Scene for 40 years and be constantly playing with great musicians.
Q: How did you get into the music program at CRMS?
A: I got into the music program a little bit last year and got into a class this year.
Q: What would be your dream addition to the music building?
A: It would be awesome if there was a fretless electric bass in thrown in there somewhere.
Q: What is your favorite song to perform/play?
A: My favorite song to play is probably The Chicken by Jaco Pastorius. It's got fun chord changes and arrangements, especially for bass.

Q: What is your favorite type of music?A: Its hard for me to say. Most of my favorite music is some type of rock, ranging from back in the 70s and 80s to today.
Q: What kind of music to do participate in at CRMS?
A: I'm in beginning music now, because I am learning to play guitar. I play fiddle also, but most of the time not with the class. I play in some after school jams when they come up, and for coffeehouses and such.
Q: How do you see music fitting into your life after CRMS?
A: I'm pretty certain that music will always be something that a pursue casually, with friends, etc. If I have the chance, I would like to play in a low key band, just for the fun of it.
Q: Is music something that you want to have as a career?
A: I don't see myself ever quitting music, but I don't see myself making a living out of it. For me, music is just for fun, and today's music scene is pretty rough for people trying to make a name for themselves. Besides, there are other things that I would like to pursue in my life that don't have anything to do with music, and I would not want music to be my main focus.
Q: If you could be one famous music artist who would it be and why?
A: I really don't know the name of anyone in particular who I would want to be. In fact, I wouldn't really want to be any other music artist.
Q: How did you get into the music program at CRMS?
A: I've always liked music, so the music program was one of the most appealing art electives for me to take.
Q: What would be your dream addition to the music building?
A: Recording equipment
Q: What is your favorite song to perform/play?
A: I dont really have a favorite song. I have the most fun when I'm just jamming.

Q: What is your favorite type of music?A: My favorite type of music is country music. They’re songs about real
life experiences, not drugs, sex, and money like most of the songs you
hear today. Q: What kind of music to do participate in at CRMS?
A: I participate in the beginning music class, though I’ve been playing
piano since I was six. I also sing, play the violin, and as of now
play the vibes.
Q: How do you see music fitting into your life after CRMS?
A: Music has always been a part of my life. When I get stressed out, the
first thing I do is go straight to the piano. Music is, in a sense, my
therapy, and I’m sure it will continue to help me get through hard
times after CRMS.
Q: Is music something that you want to have as a career?
A: I used to want to be a professional piano player. But the problem with
that is you have to practice 7+ hours a day. I love music, but I also
love other things too! So probably not. it will just be a passion of
mine, and a hobby.
Q: If you could be one famous music artist who would it be and why?
A: I would want to be my idol, Aretha Franklin. She got out there in the
music industry and made a name for herself at a very young age and
who wouldn't want to have that amazing voice?
Q: How did you get into the music program at CRMS?
A: I have been going to CRMS coffee houses since I was in second grade. I
saw all the talent that CRMS had, year after year, and I wanted to be
a part of it.
Q: What would be your dream addition to the music building?
A: My dream addition to the music building would probably be to have 3
little individual rooms where people can come and practice by
themselves without being disrupted by anyone. And to maybe have a
recording studio so we can see where we need to improve in our songs,
and where we are strongest.
Q: What is your favorite song to perform/play?
A: Definitely the last one I just performed, "somebody to love" by Queen.
The vocals were so much fun!
