Colorado Rocky Mountain School is technologically well equipped with:
- campus wide high-speed internet access
- projectors and SmartBoards for interactive classroom presentations
- two campus computer labs equipped with Mac desktop computers for student and faculty use.
Faculty incorporate an appropriate level of technology into their curricula across all disciplines. From Robotics and Computer Programming courses to online collaboration with learning tools like KhanAcademy and CodeAcademy, to the simple use of video software for training in the active program, technology has a place at CRMS.
At CRMS there are so many powerful teaching moments that happen when students engage with just each other and the material. There are also meaningful connections that can be made when technology is set aside. Students and faculty believe in the importance of “unplugging” and do so in a variety of ways where everyone takes time away from social media and the internet to interact with the community.
By helping students find the right balance between incorporating technology into their studies, and becoming overly reliant on it as a research tool and social outlet, the school believes that they will be prepared for whatever the technological world will look like in the future while still being good citizens in their communities.
Note: CRMS requires that all students come to school with a laptop. The school is platform friendly and provides access to network printers, copiers, and internet. Student school email addresses will be assigned once the student is enrolled. Parents will also have access to an online gradebook.
